2 : Apples
1/2 : c Honey
12 : oz Frozen apple juice*
1 : ts Cinnamon
6 : tb Unalted butter
1 : /2 Teapsoons crumbled dried
-thyme : -thyme
1 : /2 ts Crumbled dried sage
2 : ts Freshly grated lemon zest
1 : ts Salt
4 : 1-1/2-pound cornish hen;
-rinsed : -rinsed and patted, dry
1 : /2 lb Shallots; trimmed and peeled
1 : /2 tb Vegetable oil
1/2 : c Chicken broth
1/2 : c Red wine
1/2 : c Water
2 : ts Cornstarch dissolved in
0: Heat oven to 350 F Grease 12x8-inch (2 quart) baking dish
1: In large bowl, combine all ingredients except cheese
2: Pour into greased baking dish
3: Bake at 350 F for 45-55 minutes or until golden brown and set
4: Sprinkle with Cheese
5: Bake an additional 2-3 minutes or until cheese is melted
6: Let stand 5 minutes before serving
7: Cut into squares
8: NOTES : This recipe calls for Country Ham, I like regular ham better, but use whatever you like
